Distribution: Occurring east of the Cascades crest in the northern counties in Washington; Alaska to Oregon,east to Alberta and south in the Rocky Mountains to Colorado, also in eastern North America.

Habitat: Stream banks and alpine slopes.

Growth Duration: Perennial
